On Tuesday 8th May Chamber Choir participated in Stowe School’s Choral Festival. An intensive but enjoyable day of rehearsals culminated in performances of musical theatre songs in the Ugland Auditorium and three sacred works in a compline service in Stowe’s beautiful chapel.

On Tuesday 20th March Year 2 visited Hamerton Zoo Park near Huntingdon. This half term Year 2 have been studying “Families” and learning about different animal families.
During the visit the children took part in a workshop called ‘Fur, Feathers and Scales’, which helped them to learn about some of the different animal groups and how to recognise them, based on their features. They met an African Pygmy Hedgehog called Harry, a Conure Parrot called Alfie and a Corn Snake called Bo, which they were allowed to hold. They saw many exciting animals including Siberian tigers, cheetahs, Canadian lynx, hooded vultures, meerkats, a variety of lemurs, gibbons, several different owls and an anteater.
It was a fantastic and informative day!
During their trip to Waddesdon Manor in December, the Reception Year
children spent some time making their own Christmas decoration and learning how to decorate and assemble it.
They also visited the house itself and had great fun finding the numbered
baubles in each room. They enjoyed looking at all the spectacularly
decorated rooms, particularly enjoying the bathroom with the seal in the
A second group of Pre-Reception children wrapped up warmly for a cold and sunny walk in the woods to experience how the seasons are changing. A mug of hot chocolate warmed them up at the end before coming back to school.
On Thursday 16th November Class 11 went to The Victoria and Albert museum in London. They had a brilliant time at a workshop about the Great Exhibition in Crystal Palace and thoroughly enjoyed visiting the sculpture galleries and Cast Courts to see some examples of sculpture from all around the world, in particular a plaster cast of Michelanglo’s David. They visited the British Galleries to see examples of British design throughout the Victorian era and they were very excited to see ‘Tipu’s Tiger’ which was a favourite from a Design Technology project last year.
